Depart early in the morning for La Caldera. Enjoy breakfast, followed by the Full Eclipse Experience alongside Grupo Astronómico Osiris, and lunch. Return to your accommodation in El Bolsón. Dinner at the accommodation.

Annular Solar Eclipse

An annular solar eclipse is a fascinating astronomical phenomenon that occurs when the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun while being at the farthest point in its orbit. At this distance, the Moon appears slightly smaller than the Sun and cannot cover it completely, leaving a spectacular ring of fire around the lunar silhouette.

La Caldera is an extraordinary location with geological formations dating back to the Early Cenozoic. The region also preserves much older geological records from the Mesozoic Era, particularly the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods, reflecting the time before the continents began to split apart and the mountain range took shape.

For this occasion, international experts have identified La Caldera as one of the world's best locations for observing the annular phase of the solar eclipse, with a probability of clear skies exceeding 90%.

Day 3

Breakfast. Enjoy a free day to explore at your own pace. In the late afternoon and evening, visit Laberinto Patagonia, followed by dinner at Sidra Restaurante and nighttime sky observation alongside Grupo Astronómico Osiris. Return to your accommodation in El Bolsón.

Laberinto Patagonia

Located in El Hoyo, Laberinto Patagonia emerges among native forests, with fascinating views of Cerros Pirque and Plataforma. It is home to the largest labyrinth in South America, featuring 2,200 meters of pathways bordered by living hedges. With nine entrances, finding your way to the center is a challenge—only one entrance leads to the correct route.

The labyrinth symbolizes the spiritual world and represents the alternative paths and crossroads we encounter throughout life. Exploring and finding your way through it can also become an invitation to self-discovery.

Night Sky Observation

Nighttime sky observation at Laberinto Patagonia is an exceptional astronomical experience. Its strategic location in a valley surrounded by Cerros Pirque and Plataforma provides a natural barrier against light pollution from nearby towns.

The result is an exceptionally dark, clear sky, allowing visitors to admire the Milky Way in breathtaking detail, appearing like a solid cloud stretching across the heavens.

Using telescopes, you will have the opportunity to identify different constellations, planets, star clusters, and nebulae, discovering the wonders of the night sky in an unforgettable setting.

Day 4

Breakfast. Enjoy an excursion of your choice. Return to your accommodation in El Bolsón. Dinner at the accommodation.

Choose One of the Following Excursions:

Option 1: Río Azul Circuit with Boat Trip on Lago Puelo

La Loma del Medio lies between the Andes and the town of El Bolsón. Here, you will find Mirador del Río Azul, where you can admire the river winding its way toward its mouth at Lago Puelo, the final destination of the excursion.

Along the way, we will make two stops. The first offers a walk through the forest along the riverbank. The second takes us to one of the footbridges crossing the river to the opposite bank, where you can spot Cerro Tres Picos in the distance and Cerro Piltriquitrón directly ahead.

Boat Trip on Lago Puelo

The Parque Nacional Lago Puelo showcases the transition between the Andean-Patagonian Forest and the Valdivian Rainforest. Its shores are framed by intensely colored blue, green, and turquoise waters, creating a remarkable natural setting.

Cruising across the lake is a relaxing experience, with gentle breezes and reflections of the towering peaks of Chubut Province.

Discover the Río Azul Delta, impressive rocky cliffs, hidden bays, rapids and waterfalls, surrounded by lush vegetation. This scenic boat trip offers breathtaking views and an unforgettable way to experience the region's natural beauty.

Option 2: Family Rafting on Río Manso

One of the region's most popular excursions, this is a wonderful way to enjoy the summer waters with family or friends, combining fun, relaxation, and adventure.

Accompanied by experienced guides, you will paddle down Río Manso and navigate its rapids for approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes, enjoying an exciting yet family-friendly rafting experience.

The adventure concludes with refreshments and some free time to enjoy the famous natural swimming hole, known locally as the pozón.

Option 3: Horseback Riding or Trekking to the Río Azul Canyon

Horseback Riding

Exploring the Andean-Patagonian Forest on horseback is a peaceful and enchanting way to connect with nature and leave everyday routines behind.

Accompanied by experienced local guides and gentle horses, you will cross the Blanco and Azul rivers before reaching the spectacular Río Azul Canyon after a couple of hours.

Here, the river flows between towering rock walls reaching 40 meters in height along a one-kilometer stretch, creating a truly impressive natural landscape.

Trekking

The Río Azul Canyon is one of the iconic natural landmarks of El Bolsón. Reaching it on foot is a wonderful experience, with trails winding through forests of coihue, alerce, lenga, and cypress trees, sometimes following the course of the river.

Accompanied by a specialized mountain guide, you will discover the area's remarkable scenery, enjoy the peaceful surroundings, and experience the beauty of Patagonia on an unforgettable hike.
